What is Relay Cropping?

Relay cropping is essentially a special version of double cropping, where the second crop is planted into the first crop before harvest, rather than waiting until after harvest as in true double-cropping. In this way, both crops share a portion of the growing season, increasing solar radiation and heat available to each. Relay cropping may solve a number of conflicts such as inefficient use of available Resources, controversies in sowing time, Fertilizer application and Soil degradation.

What is P-300 Test?

When the brain recognises a person or a sound, it generates a particular type of electric wave, which is called a P300. Sensors are attached to the head of a person undergoing a P300 test and the subject is seated before a computer monitor. He is then shown certain images or made to hear certain sounds. The sensors monitor electrical activity in the brain and register P300 waves, which are generated only if the subject has some connection with the stimulus, in this case pictures or sounds. The subject is not asked any question. These test are used by investigators to cross check their findings, determine if a suspect is telling the truth or make him reveal facts pertaining to a case.

What is the difference between White Sugar and Brown Sugar?

Given that white and brown sugar originate from the same crops — either the sugarcane or sugar beet plant — they are quite similar. In fact, most brown sugar is a mixture of white sugar and molasses, which is a type of sugar-derived syrup. Molasses is responsible for its darker color and slightly increases its nutritional value. The most notable nutritional difference between the two is that brown sugar has slightly higher calcium, iron, and potassium contents. That said, the amounts of these minerals in brown sugar are insignificant, so it’s not a good source of any vitamins or minerals. Brown sugar also contains slightly fewer calories than white sugar, yet the difference is minimal. One teaspoon (4 grams) of brown sugar provides 15 calories, while the same amount of white sugar has 16.3 calories. Aside from these minor differences, they are nutritionally similar. Their main differences are their taste and color. First, the sugary juice from both crops is extracted, purified, and hea

What is Cloud Burst?

Cloudburst, a sudden, very heavy rainfall, usually local in nature and of brief duration. Most so-called cloudbursts occur in connection with thunderstorms. In these storms there are violent uprushes of air, which at times prevent the condensing raindrops from falling to the ground. A large amount of water may thus accumulate at high levels, and if the upward currents are weakened the whole of this water falls at one time. Cloudbursts are especially common in mountainous areas. This is probably because the warm air currents of a thunderstorm tend to follow the upward slope of a mountain. The effects of heavy rain are especially striking on mountain slopes because the falling water is concentrated in valleys and gulleys. Mountain cloudbursts cause sudden and destructive floods. The intensity of rainfall in the most severe cloudbursts can only be conjectured.

Why Sand Is Thrown On The Tracks Covered With Snow?

If the tracks are covered with snow then there is a substantial reduction in frictional force between the track and the train wheels or vehicle tyres and road which corresponds to the train being skidded. Therefore driving is not safe. If sand is thrown on the snow-covered tracks or roads the friction force increases so that safe driving is achievable.

What is NarcoSynthesis?

In the post-World War II era, the technique of narcosynthesis (as it was later called) was developed by psychiatrists as a means of treating patients who suffered from posttraumatic stress disorder. Narcosynthesis — also called sodium amytal interview, amobarbital interview, or amytal interview — uses a technique of free association as well as dream and transference material during the session as a basis for uncovering relevant topics for later therapeutic discussion.

POLITY-JUDICIARY ‘Why publish details of couples who want to wed?’ Demand a violation of privacy: petition

The Supreme Court asked for the government’s response to a plea that wide publication of the personal details of a couple who want to wed under the Special Marriage Act is a violation of their privacy.     The details being publicised include their names, date of birth, age, occupation, parents’ names and details, addresses, pin codes, identity information and phone numbers. This was a peculiar requirement of the Act, intended to help consenting adults, especially those who belong to different religions or castes, to marry.     A Bench led by Chief Justice of India Sharad A. Bobde issued notice to the government on the writ petition filed by Nandini Praveen, a law student from Kerala, who is represented by advocates Kaleeswaram Raj and Nishe Rajen Shonker.     However, Chief Justice Bobde expressed certain prima facie reservations about the plea to do away with the publication of details.     “You don’t understand the purpose of the law [Special Marriage Act]... Normally they [people w

BILATERAL – INDIA-CHINA China rebuts Rajnath, says India violated agreements: Indian side trespassed and fired first, says Foreign Ministry

China blamed India for “violating” border agreements and said India bore responsibility for the recent tensions, a day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told Parliament that China had, by amassing troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) this summer, violated the 1993 and 1996 boundary agreements that have helped keep the peace along the border for years. “The responsibility for the current situation does not lie with China,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a press briefing, in response to a question on Mr. Singh’s statement.     Asked why China had not yet disengaged and withdrawn its troops to the status quo as of April, prior to its transgressions, Mr. Wang said: “The most urgent and important task is for the Indian side to immediately correct its wrong course of action, disengage on the ground as soon as possible, and take concrete actions to promote easing of the situation.”     “It is the Indian side that has violated the agreements, first trespassed, an

What is "What3Words" or Three word addressing system?

What3Words is a service that divides the globe into something like 3 trillion 3 meter by 3 meter squares, and gives each of those squares a natural-language, three-word moniker, e.g., "apple bicycle road". Let's say, for example, that you wanted to find the three word address for the crooks who reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC USA.  Here it is: strong.pitch.volunteered .  The three word address is "strong.pitch.volunteered".  If you're from, say, Tokyo, and you're not familiar with American addressing systems, those three words make more sense to you than does "1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC USA."  This three word addressing system becomes even more useful if you're trying to identify a precise area of an "unaddressed" area such as in the middle of the Amazon, or Borneo, or interior Antarctica, etc.
